If you haven’t looked lately, new links have been added to the library homepage. Here are a few gems you may have missed:

Our email address!
The main library page now displays a link for email to the library. You can now send a message or a question. It will be referred to the appropriate staff member and a reply will be sent to you within 24 hours.

Titles on the New Book Shelf
Each Monday, new books are put on display for one week. Although you cannot borrow the books while they are on display, you may sign up to have them routed to you when they are ready to circulate.

You can also check out the titles of the books displayed over the previous three months. You can find this link on the main page under “What’s New.”

For example, you may have seen a book on Native American Medicine two weeks ago on the new books shelf but can’t remember the title. You can now search the list by date such as April 26 and then use the browser’s find command to look for keyword “native.” The record you are looking forwill appear as follows:

Renovation of the library
You can find lots of information about the changes going on in the library during the renovation period — i.e., timelines, plans, HSEC news, 24-hour study room and bathrooms in the library! For those of you who don't visit the library regularly, you can follow the progress by checking out the pictures on the renovation page — however, you will miss all the noise if you don’t come in to check it out yourself. Find this renovation link on the main page under the picture.

Searching with ejournal publisher search engines
We have added a new page to the library website under the heading Ejournals called Ejournal Publishers Search Engines . This section provides links to each ejournal publisher. Some sites have sophisticated search engines and others just provide keyword search tools. Many faculty have already discovered the search engines at Highwire Publisher and Scirus at Science Direct extremely useful.

Be aware, however, that your results may include journals without library subscriptions. You also will not find the link out to library resources which are available in PubMed, Ovid and Web of Science. You may be asked to pay for some articles.

If you experience any problems with any of our electronic resources, you can now report it to us by filling out this form. We will try to answer your electronic problems immediately. You can find this link at the top of every page under the Comments Button.

Copyright information for faculty
In reponse to many questions regarding legal restrictions on posting course material on the web, the library staff have developed a page of links to many resources and legal definitions. Click on Useful Links in the left column of the library homepage, go to Internet Resources and then Copyright & Intellectual Property Resources.

Suggestions for giving to the library
Library users frequently donate a book to memorialize a friend or neighbor. Now you can take a look at other possibilities of donating to the library. Check out the link on the left column of the library homepage and click on Ways to Give .
