eMedicine: A New Database

The library has added eMedicine to our electronic resources. Available from the library’s homepage at http://library.uchc.edu, it can be found either from the “Databases” link or under "What's New" on the homepage. The library also offers training classes on how to efficiently and effectively use the database. Click on http://library.uchc.edu/eduoff/ for class information.

eMedicine is a collection of peer reviewed information and it provides:

· Articles on 7,000 diseases and disorders.
· The latest practice guidelines in 62 medical specialties.
· A collection of medical images.
· CME credits at a discount price of $6.50 per course payable by the individual with up to 1.5 hours of credit.
· Basic and advanced searching that allows searches by specialty and date and the use of Boolean Operators.

eMedicine Access

· Access is through IP validation, and no password is needed.
· Two people can use eMedicine at the same time.
· Always remember to log off when finished.
