Use of the library's electronic resources has skyrocketed over the last two years. Access to the homepage and the library's databases and electronic journals increases every month. While the journal stacks have been closed during the renovation, a frequent question at the Reference Desk has been "Don't you have this title electronically?" At the same time, students no longer need to share four print copies of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine; they can access it electronically from here or from home.

Next year we will transfer formats of additional titles--for example Journal Citation Reports will be transferred from microfiche to an online site license for the entire university. Ulrich's Periodical Directory is now an online database. Environmental Health Perspectives will be only electronic access.

In order to purchase additional materials in electronic formats, the library staff has selected the titles listed below which are not being used in print or fiche. Some of these titles are print journals and others are volumes which are shelved in the books stacks. Should you need articles from these publications, the material could be provided to you free through our Document Delivery service.

If you personally feel that one of these titles is essential for your work or classes and must be available at all times in the library, please contact Lorna Wright in the library either by phone x4058 or email to
wright@nso.uchc.edu. We expect to continue about 20% of the titles listed, depending on the response from you.
